

Longtan Lake Duathlon
Longtan Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the area around it is one of unspoiled natural beauty. The lake is the largest of the five biggest lakes of Yilan. The holding of the duathlon allows competitors to soak up the beautiful lake scenery on bike and foot, while having fun exercising and engaging in some high quality leisure travel.

Erlong River dragon boat races
The dragon boat races have been held every Dragon Boat Festival for over 200 years; the event has a long history and has a pronounced local feel. The races have been named one of the Top 12 Folk Activities in Taiwan by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and are a precious asset of Jiaoxi Township. As well as intensely competitive dragon boat races, there are also a number of entertaining performances, dragon boat experience and DIY activities, as well as value for money Lanyang Plain dishes, to be enjoyed, allowing visitors to enjoy fine local food while learning about the distinctive cultural features of Jiaoxi.

Full Moon Swing activity
The Mid-autumn Full Moon Swing is a traditional folk activity that has been held in Jiaoxi for over 200 years. It is said the activity originated when villagers gathered at the local temple on the evening of Mid-Autumn Festival and staged a competition to bring people closer together. The swing frame is fixed tightly in place using rattan strips, with not a single nail used. The handles on the seat are made of bamboo instead of rope. When the competition is held a god is invited to attend. Jiaoxi’s Mid-autumn Full Moon Swing is a very traditional swing competition.

The traditional swing activity is a test of fitness as well as courage and is thrilling to watch.
Love Yilan Hot Spring Festival
During Love Yilan Hot Spring Festival a variety of exiting activities are held and, in conjunction with local hot spring bath operators, tour packages and discounts can be enjoyed. If you want to visit Jiaoxi for a hot spring bath the Festival is an opportunity not to be missed. Everyone is welcome to visit Jiaoxi to enjoy Tangwei hot spring, savor delicious hot spring dishes and enjoy the splendid performances.

Holiday street concerts
To enrich Jiaoxi’s travel environment and enhance its small town charm, a street music festival concert from 7-9pm every Saturday in the Deyang Street Trail Square area; the concert has both modern charm and a classical atmosphere. As well as performing the carefully planned program, musicians also interact with the audience and there is a quiz with prizes, not only giving visitors an encounter with beautiful music during their visit to Jiaoxi, maybe also letting them take a prize home.

Musicians from Taiwan are invited to perform in the Saturday night concert, giving visitors a music feast with a difference!
